    WHAT IS SEEDS?

    "Seeds” is the low-threshold part of Tou Works. A number of "Seeds" projects of NOK 10.000 each are advertised for artists in the region of Stavanger. The aim is to offer five projects every year. Emerging artist will have a possibility to realize ideas, and Tou Works can become an incubator for the birth of larger projects.


    Rule:

    - artists that work and live in Rogaland may apply for a project

    - minimum 2 participants

    - the work takes plae at Tou Scene

    - the amount of NOK 10.000 is at free disposal

    - Tou Scene offers resources as technical equipment, spaces etc.

    - there are no restrictions or guidelines about the content of the project

    - the project will be documented on the TW website

    - the showing will be presented as a part of Tou Scene's programme.

    Evy Horpestad Tjåland

    [will be translated] "TRACE". Objektene, som skal lages i stål og glass, fremstår som små tittekasser eller bokser hvor motiver av tegninger og fotografier er trykket på flere lag av glass. Motivene vil være utsnitt av detaljerte ansiktstrekk fra venner og familie.

    Helge Olav Øksendal and Ingouf Vincent

    Helge Olav Øksendal (musician, Stavanger) and Ingouf Vincent (musician, Frankrike) make a composition for the route between the centre of town to Tou Scene. The artists will make sound recordings in the area, sample and process the material and then “give it back” by re-installing the composition in a new context.

    Mona Orstad Hansen and Torunn Larsen

    Mona Orstad Hansen (visual artist, Stavanger) and Torunn Larsen (art historian, Stavanger) present ”Grassroots” - an uto-political art project at Nytorget. Nytorget is currently an area of transformation. The project wants to squat the site and make it a car free zone for a limited time period.

    Nils Thomas Økland and Rune Aase

    Nils Thomas Økland (visual artist, Sandnes) and Rune Aase (engineer, Sandnes). ”The creative act” is a starting point where the artist and engineer approach the work with a mutual wish to explore utopia. They are both fascinated by the science fiction genre, which will most likely be present and visible in the project aesthetics.

    DISCOTHEQUE: Et interaktivt rominstallasjonsprosjekt med utgangspunkt i dans som situasjon. Av Sandra Vaka (NO) og Marlie Mul (NL). Vi tar utgangspunkt i den velkjente diskokulen, speilkulen, speilballen eller ballspeilet. Overflaten består av hundrevis eller tusenvis av fasetter, alle med en speil-overflate.
