Helge Olav Øksendal and Ingouf Vincent

Helge Olav Øksendal (musician, Stavanger) and Ingouf Vincent (musician, Frankrike) make a composition for the route between the centre of town to Tou Scene. The artists will make sound recordings in the area, sample and process the material and then “give it back” by re-installing the composition in a new context. The composition will be played live in the old public toilets at Nytorget. By re-opening this space the artists would like to point to the potential in the existing architecture and make visible hidden elements of the Jugend/Art Nouveau wall and its unused and empty internal spaces.

The residents of Pedersgata are also invited to play the composition on a cd from their home stereos to create an extended soundscape in Pedersgata.

A Tou Works SEEDS project, incorporated in TW1.

CURRICULUM VITAE:

Ingouf Vincent (23) er bosatt og har utdannelse fra kunstakademiet i Normandie. Han jobber med musikk, maleri, video og designer hjemmesider. Han samarbeidet med Øksendal på Tou Scene ved zang:internasjonal tidligere i år.

Helge Olav Øksendal, også kjent som artisten HOH, er en særpreget og sentral elektronika-artist og kunstnerisk personlighet i Stavanger. Han er også aktiv i Numusic festivalen og som organisator av Tou Music Shop. Han skaper kunst- og tegneseriebladet Bare Snabel.

Tou Works is a series of new art productions at Tou Scene. The project starts in 2008 in collaboration with Stavanger2008 European Capital of Culture.
Local, regional and international artists meet in Stavanger to develop collaborative projects.
The two first projects TW1 and TW2 are shown to the public in 2008.
SEEDS are projects in small format.
The aim is to make Tou Works a permanent platform for artistic production after 2008 - a production laboratory at Tou Scene.
