En rekke aktører har tatt vår utfordring og setter opp midlertidige kunstrom og kunst-stunt i en løype mellom Tou Scene og Kulturlaboratoriet i Ryfylkegt. Du får utdelt et kart ved avgangen fra Tou Scene.
We hereby invite you to a safari in the neighborhood of Tou Scene. The artistic route is a result of many people’s response to our challenge. We issued an open invitation, proposing that people set up temporary activities in former industrial spaces in the surroundings. What triggered this idea was the presence of Kulturlaboratoriet, a cluster of artistic workspaces in the old Tin Factory in Ryfylkegata, that emerged this spring. K-lab represents the same kind of communal action that kicked off Tou a few years back in time.
Cultural action is necessary, and filling buildings with art is necessary. The event is self-organized and self-promoting, without censorship or curation. Tou Scene provides help to access to buildings. All artists are themselves responsible for organizing and presenting their work. The public participates on its own responsability.
The locations are in various states: refurbished, abandoned, under threat of demolition, changing owners, under renovation. One of the locations actually is the upper buildings of Tou brewery itself, still empty and with an insecure future 7 years after the start of Tou Scene.
